Principal: Ellen Cwick

Dr. Ellen Cwick began her first year as Principal of Vernon Hills High School on July 1, 2003. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Education from George Williams College and her Master of Science Degree in Educational Administration from Northern Illinois University. Her Doctorate Degree in Curriculum and Instruction was also from Northern Illinois University.
Dr. Cwick spent seven years as a high school science teacher at Wheaton North High School where she was also the Head Girls’ Volleyball and Track and Field coach. She then spent two years as a Dean of Students and three years as a Dean of Student Activities in Naperville School District 203. She returned to Wheaton North High School in 1997 where she was an Assistant Principal for Curriculum and Instruction for four years. In 2001, Dr. Cwick came to Vernon Hills High School where she served as Assistant Principal for two years.
Throughout the years, Dr. Cwick has served on several boards and committees such as the Executive Board of the Illinois Directors of Student Activities and Chairperson of a School Improvement Program. She is currently a member of the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, the Illinois Principals Association and serves on the high school committee of the Illinois Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development.
Associate Principal: Jon Guillaume

Named Associate Principal in 2010, Jon Guillaume began his role in July of 2003. His responsibilities include the coordination of programs and services related to curriculum and instruction, the coordination of student and parent programs, and the evaluation of teachers.
Jon completed an undergraduate Bachelor of Science degree from the Taylor University with a major in mathematics and secondary education. In 1992 he accepted a position teaching mathematics at Niles North High School in Skokie, IL. After two years at Niles North he left and began teaching math at Libertyville High School. While teaching math and coaching football and baseball for District 128 he completed a graduate degree in Educational Administration from Northern Illinois University. In 1999 Jon became the Mathematics Department Supervisor for Libertyville High School and then for Vernon Hills High School when it opened its doors. He continued as department supervisor, math teacher and basketball coach until he took over the assistant principal responsibilities in 2003.
Assistant Principal: Jean Aucutt

Jean Aucutt has been the Assistant Principal for Student Development since August, 2005. Her responsibilities include supervision of the Learning Support Teams, the day-to-day operation of the school, special programs, and teacher evaluations.
Jean’s entire career has been with District 128. She completed her undergraduate degree from Illinois State University in 1981, with a major in business education. In the fall of that year she accepted a position teaching business at Libertyville High School, and in 1994 she became a student facilitator (dean/counselor) at LHS. In 1999, when the Vernon Hills campus opened, Jean came to VHHS as a counselor. Other positions she has held while at VHHS include department chair for Department One and Dean of Students.
Jean received her Master’s in Business Education from Northern Illinois University in 1986, and her Type 75 Certificate in 1991, also from NIU.
