Get yourself ready for a year’s worth of reading when you buy a Book Bundle!!  Many English teachers are offering students an easy way to get their required reading books for the whole school year.  Use cash or check to order your book bundle in the LMC starting today at 7:00 a.m.  until 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 10th.  We will also take orders through the mail and during Open House on Tuesday, September 9th.  Your teacher may have given you an order letter, or see the promotion on the LMC website.  (Tolva 9/3)

French Exchange Program June 2015:  All French students interested in participating in the French Exchange Program in June 2015 in Angers, France, are welcome to hear the presentation that will be presented tonight.  Location is at Libertyville High School – Studio Theater, at 7:00 p.m.  Sorry, Seniors aren’t eligible.  Everyone else is more than welcome to attend.  Please bring an adult with you.  Any questions or for more information, please talk to your French teacher.   See you next Tuesday at  LHS at 7:00 p.m.  (Guiard 9/2)

JUNIORS AND SENIORS

Advocate Condell Medical Center will be accepting applications online for the 2014-2015 Penwasciz Program today,  from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. only, to 26 eligible Junior and Senior high school students who are interested in pursuing a healthcare career.  A link to the application  process will be found at www.advocatehealth.com/condell/penwascizYou have only a one hour time slot to apply for this program!  More information is available in the scholarship bin in the CRC.  (Netland 9/2)

SENIORS

If you are a SENIOR with a grade point average of 3.4 and above and you are not currently a member of NHS, you should receive a letter regarding National Honor Society academic eligibility.  If you do NOT receive a letter and you believe you are eligible, please see Ms. Lehman in Room 1311C, located in the teacher center on the blue floor.  There will be an informational meeting for all eligible Seniors on Wednesday, September 3rd in the Studio Theatre at 8:45 a.m.  (Beagle 9/2)

Clubs and Sports:

CLUBS AND SPORTS

Fall Student Athletes - State law that requires that all student athletes view a concussion education video. Some fall student athletes have viewed this video already with their team - and if so, you’re all done. For those that have not watched the video with your team, we will be showing the concussion education video on Tuesday, September 2nd and Thursday, September 4th in the Studio Theatre during the lunch periods. Please plan on attending at the start of 4A, 4B, 5A, 5B, 6A or 6B during your study hall period. Student athletes who do not complete this requirement will be pulled from practice/competition starting Monday, September 8th. (McDonald 9/8)

COUGAR CYCLING CLUB:  The Cycling Club is meeting after school Wednesday, September 3rd in Room 0200 to talk about our upcoming rides and to answer any questions one might have about Cycling Club!  Our first ride is Sunday the 7th at 10:00 a.m., leaving from the front doors of the High School.  You need a parent permission form that you can get at the meeting.   (Lueken 9/3)

FBLA:  Do you want to succeed in the world of business?  Make money?  Or even add to your portfolio of accomplishments?  Join FBLA to get a head start in your leadership, public speaking, and business skills.  Invest in yourself, come to our very first meeting at 7:10 a.m. or 3:20 p.m. on Thursday, September 4th in Room 0200 (on the lower level floor near the buses).  We’ll have plenty of food!!  (Lueken 9/4)

MATH TEAM:  Now’s your chance to join the defending State Champion VHHS Math Team!
